A majority of Texas employers are seeing a significant increase in health care costs over the previous year and rank reducing those costs as their top health care priority, according to a recent survey.
Eighty-two percent of Texas employers believe that health care benefits are extremely or very important when it comes to recruiting and retaining employees, the survey found.
Employers are using a variety of strategies to cope with cost pressures, including cutting expenses in other areas of the business, increasing employee co-pays and deductibles, switching health care insurance providers, and trimming benefits, while still bearing the brunt of health care costs, the survey also revealed.
One company more. and more Texas employers are turning to is UniCare. John Berkowitz of www.medequote.net comments, "UniCare has come up some great health plans which fit employers budgets in Texas. The plans have a lot of flexibility so employers can control cost more effectively than with other health plans. The new Pathways program is a good example of this. UniCare also has the lowest renewal rates in Texas, and that is one solid reason for choosing UniCare in Texas.
